According to JBQ Nothing Technology Limited (pronounced NOTHING) is a consumer electronics manufacturer based in England ,Europe. The company was Create by Carl Pei, one of the founders of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer One Plus. The company’s investors include iPod inventor Tony Fadel, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lane, Reddit CEO Steve Hoffman, and YouTube’s Casey Neistat. On February 25, 2021, the company announced Teenage Engineering as a founding partner, primarily responsible for the design aesthetic of the brand and its products. Nothing’s debut ear (1) and was released on July 27, 2021.

In 2020 year , One Plus co-founder Carl P was working with the company alongside Pete Love. Pi announced his resignation on October 16, 2020 to start a new venture. Pi later raised up to $7 million from several investors to launch his venture, including iPod inventor Tony Fadel, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lane, Reddit CEO Steve Hoffman, and You Tuber Casey Neistat.

The company announced Nothing Brand on January 27, 2021. On February 15, 2021, Nothing Brand acquired the Essential Products trademarks and Brand nearly a year after the company was shut down. On February 25, 2021, the company announced its first founding partner, Teenage Engineering, to produce the design aesthetic of the brand and its products. Nothing announced its first product on July 27, 2021 called “ear (1)”, which are wireless headphones .

On October 13, 2021, the company raised up to $ 50 million and also announced a partnership with Qualcomm. On March 9, 2022, the same day that nothing secured Series B funding, the company announced that it would hold a press conference on March 23. During that event, the company introduced its first smartphone, the Phone (1).

JBQ says, Nothing Ear 1 designed as “Ear (1)”, is the first product of Nothing. Introduced on July 27, 2021, Ear 1 is a set of wireless headphones. This Earpods can be connected via Bluetooth and have a battery life of up to 34 hours when used with a charging case and up to 5.7 hours with ANC off. With 24 hours using this cellphone and up to 4 hours for the headphones themselves with ANC on. The headphones went on sale on August 17, 2021 for $99/£99/€99. Its black version was also announced on December 6, 2021 and went on sale on December 13. At the time, nothing announced that the Ear 1 headphones were now carbon neutral. Nothing Phone 1 On March 23, 2022, Nothing announced its first cellphone called Phone (1). The phone runs on an Android based operating system called Nothing OS with a projected release date of summer 2022. Nothing OS is not an operating system but a custom Android skin. In June 2022, Nothing opened an invite only pre order for The Phone (1) cellphone, which reached 100,000 waitlist signups.
